When Felix Murokh started Mr. Floor in 1987, they were a fledgling organization comprised of a few skilled craftsmen all dedicated to customer service.

Today, with over 32 years of experience and 20,000 satisfied customers, their 10,000 square foot Skokie design center features thousands of samples and Mr. Floor remains committed to providing homeowners and businesses with exceptional service, great value and the highest quality work that will last for years. Whether installing a new floor, refinishing an existing one, or remodeling kitchens, one constant remains – an unwavering commitment to exceeding client expectations.

“My father’s philosophy of customer service/customer first applies, now more than ever,  and is the driving force behind our continued growth,” comments Igor Murokh, Felix’s son and Mr. Floor Vice President/Sales Manager.

A Large Footprint for Success

Mr. Floor’s extensive client roster includes such well-known names as; The Chicago Bulls, The University of Chicago, Northwestern University, and the Lurie’s Children’s Hospital, dozens of the most prestigious buildings in the city, and most importantly, family homes across the Chicagoland area.

“Every project, no matter how large or small, is important to us. We treat each and every home as if it were our own,” notes Murokh. “Our greatest asset is the ability to listen to our customers and to begin the journey by understanding budget, expectations and lifestyle. We take the time  to discover how people actually live in their homes, and in turn make recommendations that perform as well as they look.”

Building on what they learn during the consultation phase, Mr. Floor assembles a team of experts and prepares a project plan for the client’s review. Constant communication is also fundamental in the overall process. Each day on the job starts with a Project Manager calling to confirm crew arrival and work to be completed that day. The dedicated customer service management team makes regular onsite visits to ensure quality control and help the client with any issues or concerns.

Quality Products. Superior Results

While unmatched customer service is paramount, using quality products is equally as important. Mr. Floor sources all of their wood flooring direct from trusted mills and manufacturers as opposed to distributors or local retailers. “From the forest through the factory to your floor” is how Murokh describes the process.

“Having a direct partnership with the source of manufacture allows us to maintain the highest standards in the industry. We physically inspect each facility and hand pick our mill partners that meet our stringent quality requirements,” comments Murokh.

Recently, the Mr. Floor sales team visited one of their manufacturers for several days of education. Having their sales consultants understand how timber is harvested, processed and turned into flooring helps to insure that any recommendation they make is based on first-hand knowledge and not just something they’ve read in a brochure.

Mr. Floor also offers a line of specially formulated floor cleaning products developed with their high standards in mind. Safe and effective, the products help keep wood floors  looking and performing great for years.
