Mitchell Knopoff joined the KRD team in July 2008 with the merger of Wolf Weis & Horowitz. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1979. During his career, Mitchell has also been involved in, and at one time certified in both financial planning and business valuations.

Mitchell has over thirty years experience in public accounting working with family-owned businesses and advising them with their accounting, tax and financial needs. He has had experience in many different areas of business including real estate, manufacturing, distribution, construction, professional services, third-party administrators (TPA’s) and other service firms. Mitch strives to give great service to every client and says, “Communication and prompt personal service is my goal with every client so that I can earn and keep their trust”.

Mitchell resides in Vernon Hills with his wife Sandy and their four children. Their kids have always been very active in various travel sports and Mitch and Sandy have enjoyed being involved with those activities. In his spare time, Mitch enjoys watching Chicago’s major sports teams and playing fantasy baseball and football.
